Bereavement
Dealing with the loss of a loved-one or friend.
There are 4 stages of Bereavement:
Stage 01: Accepting the loss is genuine.
Stage 02: Experiencing and feeling emotional pain and sadness.
Stage 03: Adjusting to life without the person.
Stage 04: Putting emotional energy into something else and
moving forwards positively.
Coping with bereavement can take time. Be patient and kind to yourself.
Common feelings / emotions:
- Shock
- Sadness/ crying
- Tiredness
- Guilt
- Anger
Coping with bereavement
- Support groups can be really helpful and comforting to share experiences with others as well as learning how they cope.
- Writing a journal can help people understand their grieving process more easily.
- giving yourself some time and accepting things will get better.
